	18th C. Soft Paste Celeste Bleu Sevres Vases Porcelain, Pottery: Porcelain
	A rare and magnificent pair of three-part bolted Sevres urns, in magnificent celeste bleu palette, presented for your viewing pleasure. Marked for the year date, 1769, this pair of urns are of frit or soft-paste porcelain made during the transitional period between soft and hard paste wares at Sevres. The paintings and style are modeled in the spirit of Watteau, Bouchers, and Fragonard with exquisite workmanship evident throughout. Each urn features front and back pastoral or floral vignettes with jeweled beading and delicate gilt highlights. The urns are a perfect example of the rich velvet hues and depth that are only found on the soft paste wares. They are both in excellent condition with only minor gilt loss mainly on the handles and some missing beads. There is slight discoloration to the cream colored palettes, probably a result of the absorption of polutants and commesurate with their age; size 17" H. Look for a more beautiful historical pair, you won't find them so enjoy them while they last!
