	Antique French Travel Campaign Vanity Box. Very masculine campaign box from France, Napoleon III era. The heavy box made of rosewood bound with brass and inlaid with brass, all in very good condition. There is a monogram on top in the brass cartouche: CC or GG. Inside are many wonderful items! There are three wooden backed brushes and one wooden handles shaving brush. There are five sterling silver lidded crystal containers. No monograms on these, and in perfect condition. The cologne or scent bottles have the original stoppers in mint condition. There are two ivory toothbrushes, an ivory handles nail brush, a document folio, a button hook, a buffer and more. The mirror inset into the top of the box may be removed and has a fold-out leg for standing. The mirror is not in good repair. It is cracked. It's casing is quite good. The inside is silk and leather all dyed a very manly red. One leather lid is missing. Dimensions: the box is over 12" long, 8 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" high. Marks: The silver lids and tops all bear either the minerve or the boar's head silver guarantee marks, also the maker's mark is rubbed. But it looks like JC.
