	Trunk, Leather, Tacks leather trunk with tacks, this is the one and only most awesome dome top early trunks that I have seen in quite some time it is totally outrageous in every single way, the richness and deep color of the leather is spectacular the awesome design with brass tacks is impeccable, it has a hand hammered brass strip on all the edges of the trunk the mechanics of the lifting and closing work very well it appears to be that it has had some restoration of the interior, and that’s just my feeling but I’m not 100% sure, the lock is present and the interior is lined with fabric and it appears to be cotton, the leather strap that holds the lid to base of the trunk is an obvious replacement and a very nice one at that. I find no damage to the trunk really is in wonderful condition the only thing I see is at one time it probably had a handle on each side and the handle impression is in the leather but the handles are gone the surface of the leather is extremely rich and deep, I think this would make the most awesome decoration for the library or great room, it truly is spectacular I don’t know what else to say about it except it dates form the really early 18 hundreds and we found it just like it is in a local estate here in Maine.
