Yaacov Eisenberg 1897 - 1966 Original signed lithograph by well know and listed artist Jacob Eisenberg, depicting The Western Wall in the midst of the Old City in Jerusalem also known as the "Wailing Wall". The foreground depicts several rabbis and mourners against the wall. Mounted in a nice vintage black frame with gold lining. Signed in pencil to the lower right corner and artist seal on the lower left corner. Overall measures 12 3/4 h by 14 3/4 w, site size is 9" by 7". Biography:Jacob Eisenberg, Painter. b.1897, Pinsk, Russia. Immigrated 1913. Studies: Bezalel, Jerusalem, with Abel Pann, Schatz and Raban; 1919 School for Arts and Crafts, Vienna, specialised in ceramics. Teaching: 1927-28 Bezalel. Engraving and Stained Glass: Great Synagogue, Tel Aviv, according to sketches by Zeev Raban; Y.M.C.A., Jerusalem; Bet Shalom (House of Doctor Horowitz), Jerusalem; Kiryat Hatechnion, Haifa. 1924 Opened workshop for ceramics, Tel Aviv.
