	Nautical Bronze Ink Well. This one of the most incredible nautical/maritime theme ink wells, it is quite spectacular. It is a very finely casted bronze and it is quite a large size measuring 18 ½”l x 6”w x 9 ½”h to the top of the fisherman’s head. He appears to standing on the bow of a boat and holding a lot of rope. I would imagine it is simulating pulling up to the dock or the pier and going to tie the rope to anchor the boat. At the other end of the rope it is attached to a stump which is actually the ink well. It has a glass insert and on the side it is signed J Valenta with a hallmark. I suspect this dates from the late 19th Century or early 20th century. I have never seen one quite like it and I suspect it is quite a unique inkwell.
