Italian, 16th century, blue and yellow silk lampas, an ornately patterned fabric resembling damask, decorated with a repeating pattern of central floral urns and crowns inside curved volutes and branches. This design was derived from an ancient graeco-roman motif. Edged with an Italian 18th century handmade torchon multi-colored metal lace, finished with matching 19th century French metal tassels. Backed in blue silk velvet. Condition: Very small holes but still retaining the silk threads, basically wear consistent with age. (2 available)
