1790 French Shagreen Tortoise Revolution Snuff Box

Approx. 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches tall.

2 part box....Exterior is covered in Shagree with center miniature portrait.

Interior is Tortoise shell.

Box is trimmed in silver mounts with silver papier mache bottom.

Center miniature paintings depicts a Revolution Rally.

Quite wonderful and rare.

Overall in quite good condition for age.

Painting is strong with no seen cracks or chips. So is the shell lining.

Shagreen has one small crack.
