17th Century Italian Applique And Trim On 18th French Silk Bourette

A French brilliant lemon yellow colored 18th century silk bourette named Jaune Bouton d'Or, a wonderful hand-woven nubby silk woven from the rough outer parts of the cocoon. The center has a hand couched 17th century Italian applique with leaves and flowers of tarnish silver metal threads and highlighted with yellow and green silk threads. Finished along the sides with a 17th century Italian open weave trim of heavily tarnished silver metal thread and white silk thread and framed around the pillow with a 19th century French black metallic cording. A perfect chair sized pillow that’s simple but elegant and all antique that’s sure to brighten your day.   

Condition: Two of the leaves at the top of one arm/pedal is missing its coiled metal wire, a couple of small splits in the trim but doesn’t detract in the least, typical of age for something over 300 years old.
