	Early 1800's French School Miniature portrait painting on ivory of a beautiful woman holding a tambourine. Quite unique subject matter. She is wearing a lightly striped gauze dress with lace collar and tied box. Here powdered hair is topped by a large straw hat with long veil and ribbons. There is the feel of motion to the portrait which also is quite unusual for this time period. A very large approx. 3 3/4 by 4 1/2 inches and beautifully framed in wooden original frame which is approx. 6 1/2 by 7 inches. Rare and quite wonderful
