1800 French Shagreen Carnet Bal Necessaire Ivory Miniature Gold

Souvenir D'Amitie...A Souvenir for a friend. Highly prized Paris Palais Royal Gifts. Olive green coloring with gold gilt, not tested. Front has a fabulous portrait miniature of a beautiful woman with powdered wig and wearing a blue gown. The back is glazed to reveal the monogram of DB surrounded by gold chain and floral sprays.

The top opens easily to reveal a two page ivory note card with the original gold capped pencil. So wonderful and collectible and becoming harder and harder to find due to the devaluation of the dollar. In lovely condition with the bottom of the piece shagreen being a bit discolored.
