| This is such an amazing piece. I adore these antique cases whose primary purpose was to loving house a French floral Bridal veil or crown that was worn on the Brides Wedding Day. Approx. 6 by 12 by 15 inches. 5 pieces of original glass. Interior has the original red tufted fabric on the bottom and around the interior door. Worn but could tall such a story. The door and decorations are old tole with the crowning glory of the classically looking cherub in a cart pulled by 2 mussled sheep. There are 2 applied heralding angels to the top of the door and 2 winged putti to the bottom. A tall torch with Griffin heads is acting as front feet with applied flourishes above. I think the true color is that of the cherub in cart and it looks as someone might have lifted the color from the piece. It could be brought back to its glory and I will leave that to you...or not which is the way I love items! The interior hanger is where the crown would have been hung though you could add a shelf or two or your own wedding bridal piece or bouquet. ---------------------------- |
