1800's Pair American Miniature Portraits Signed Nixon In Period Gilt Frame

Pair of minature portrait paintings on old card and in a period lemon gold gilt wood frame with rub. Framed ...approx. 12 by 14 inches. The portraits are approx. 3 3/4 by 4 3/4 . Purcahsed as American and Boston....the back paper lists as a pair of watercolors found in Boston and signed Nixon. The back card of the gentlemans portrait is marked Russell. The portrait is also signed Nixon on the bottom left.

I am assuming a man and wife and they look to be from the 1820's to 1830's. He is in black coat with white shirt and shows a beard growth. Plain background. She is in a blue background with a black empire style dress with lacy collar. Elaborate updo with braids and curls.Some paint drops to card outside the portrait view and some wear to his coat
