	1832 Pair French Miniature Portraits On Ivory By Legenvre Paris Listed Artist Fine Art: Miniature Portrait
	A pair of Miniature portraits on ivory signed Legenvre, 1832 A Lady and a Gentleman. She is wearing a black dress over white chemise, a ruffled white cap tied under chin with black ribbons. Beautifully painted and realistic face with palid complexion, large blue eyes and prominent nose. He is wearing a black coat, waistcoat and white cravat. Thought to be husband and wife. Both portraits are signed and dated. They are approx. 2 1/4 by 2 3/4 inches and framed in a gilt mounted rectangular frame that is approx. 4 1/2 by 5 inches. Legenvre is a well listed artist painting in the late 18th to 1835. He has auction records of over $20,000. These are excellent examples of his work. Due to construction, I have not examined them outside of the frame. I see no chips or cracks to ivory and the paint is quite strong. Acquired legally
