18th C French Miniature portrait painting of an In Memorial Mourning Scene. Approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter  and framed in a gold foil frame with fabric backing with French words.

A wooded landscape where a lovely woman dressed in white with a garland in her hair. Her young child is at her lap and is handing her a flower.

In front of them is a tomb plinth with 2 doves on the top.

The plinth is inscribed: L Est. Sant Epine.

Very sweet and charming piece.
