	Rare 18th C French Mourning Box in brick red Composition with Tortoise Shell interior and Superb Miniature painting on Ivory of the Arm of God being led by ribbon by a cherub. Approx. 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. Very rare Mourning Subject matter. This is the 1st one that I have seen outside of reference books. Red composition exterior is inlaid with pewter pique around the lid and the box. Interior is a dark tortoise Shell. The painting is approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter . Blue sky background with clouds An arm with bracelet comes from the clouds and signs in the book...L'Amitie...Friend. Winged and curly haired cherub is the guide pulling a blue ribbon. Superb condition. No cracks and strong colors
