		Superb late 18th George III period solid Mahogany veneer slant front desk. The hinged sloping fall flap enclosing a fitted interior, above 4 long drawers, on straight bracket feet. The wonderful interior present a symmetry with 4 drawers and 4 pigeon holes on each side of 2 “secret” vertical drawers and a locking carved wood door screening off 2 more drawers and 2 pigeon holes. The writing surface is old and nice red soft leather with a gilded frieze all around. Once closed, it shows a beautifully patterned mahogany veneer on the flap and the 4 large drawers. The brasses on the drawers are probably not the originals but the locks are. In perfect condition considering its age.Dimensions: 44”W x 21.5”D x 41.5”HThe surface of the desk is 42”W x 23.5”D x 28.5” from the floor.
