	18th Century French Or Italian Silk And Metal Thread Brocade Coverlet Textiles, Linens: Antique Textiles
	Circa 1770 – 90 Italian or French silk brocaded tabby coverlet. A cream ground with a pattern of blue vertical serpentine stripes, brocaded in a floral design with silver metal and polychrome silk threads. Fully edged with a rare double silver metal torchon lace, backed with salmon colored glazed cotton. Made from dress material, this is a typical dress pattern of the Louis XVI period. Imagine the size of the dress that made this coverlet! Condition: Bright colors with slight wear/rub to silk threads in a few areas. Lining is very crinkled and cannot be ironed out but in good shape. Made from several pieces beautifully joined together, typical of this period since this was made for dress wear.
