Gorgeous Oyster Satin and Gold Metallic...Lame.. Evening Coat from the 1960's. This brocade reminds me of the satin brocade that some of the finest Japanese Obi are created with. Classic Opera coat style and the structured simple elegance look made popular by Jackie Kennedy. ****About the Fabric: Oyster tone Duchesse satin brocade, soft lustre. It is a heavier weight so the coat holds its shape beautifully. The gold lame is used for the hexagon shapes with quatrefoil centers, and is also used for the very large leaves. The red and orange are used for the large scale leaves. The flower blossoms are in green, blue and orange. Silk or silk blend. **The coat has a mandarin collar, straight sleeves, slight flare to the body. It buttons up the front with 6 bound buttonholes. It is lined in a purple satin. C O N D I T I O N: Overall Excellent condition. It needs to be cleaned as there is some subtle signs of age or soil towards the hem, and a soft water spot (see photo). The purple lining has fading which is often seen in this color . It needs buttons...we are going to try to find suitable ones, but for now the coat needs to have buttons. S I Z E: Medium to Large.
