Elegant English Rosewood Marquetry Writing Box or Writing Slope made of Rosewood with exotic Satin Birch marquetry having a touch of ivory for accent, circa 1830 England. A beautifully contrasting color combination with exquisitely executed marquetry that opens to reveal a deep royal purple velvet writing slope, four compartments with 2 hidden compartments underneath. Very large size measuring 16 x 9 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches high. Condition: Excellent with a superb finish and real wood marquetry, original inkwell is present but chipped on the rim, and there is no key. Very stately appearance for use and display. Measurements: W 16" x D 9 1/2" x H 4 3/4"
