A truly gorgeous and rare Chinese carved Hetian nephrite jade bangle bracelet. The bracelet comes with an ornate decorative wooden stand to display it as an object d'art when it is not being worn. Hetian, located in the southwest of Xinjiang in Northwest China, is famous for its exquisite, pure white to celadon flawless jade known as Hetian jade. Hetian jade has a history of more than 2,000 years. In ancient times, Hetian jade was transported into the Central Plains in batches and then engraved into exquisite sacrificial vessels and jade ornaments. The Jade Clothes Sewn with Gold Threads unearthed in a Western Han Tomb in Heibei Province is made of 2,000-odd pieces of Hetian jade. Through the ages, Hetian jade had been considered a priceless treasure.
The carving is a true work of art, its foliate forms winding their way entirely around the bangle. The bangle weighs 2.51 oz. (70.87 grams). The inside diameter is 60.5 mm; outside diameter is 82.5 mm.
The stand by itself is 3.54 inches long; 2.76 inches high and 1.38 inches wide.
Carved jade bangles of this quality are a rare find. This one is is excellent condition with no chips, cracks or flaws
