19th Century Italian Renaissance Style Chestnut Trunk

Here is a splendid Italian trunk handcrafted from solid chestnut by the middle part of the 19th century. This interesting piece is mounted by a large rectangular folding top revealing a large storage compartment upon a heavily embellished façade centering a heraldic shield surrounded by intricately interlaced acanthus leaves, all flanked by details female mask. Overall good condition. This item is for sale as is. Circa date 1850. Dimensions 24”high/ 67”wide/ 21”deep.
