Fantastic Norwegian Designer - Per Spook - Nordic Inspired Hand Knit Sweater Jacket. Per Spook is an acclaimed Norwegian Fashion Designer. He was in Paris for years and is known for his haute couture and Prêt-à-Porter. The Norwegian who gained a place in the top elite of French fashion. **Finding any Per Spook pieces online is all but impossible. We contacted The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Norway...they had a retrospective of his work in 2006. We wanted more information about this beautiful sweater jacket's origins. We were told that a similar jacket appeared in his Haute Couture autumn/winter collection of 1983/84 “Metals and Stones”. It was part of an outfit called Pyrite: Soleil Voile. And described in his press material as: Blouson en tricot jacquard et taffetas laque. They felt that this piece is from this collection, and quite special as they are quite rare. **It is a very dark navy with rich cream. The lining is a taffetas laque...shiny, lightweight, probably wind resistant and quite chic. The jacket zips up the front and has slash pockets on the side. It is a Norwegian classic and a great find with its Per Spook label. **A bit more about the designer: Per Spook (b. 1939) moved to Paris in 1959 to continue his training, having already completed a diploma in fashion design at the National College of Art and Design in Oslo. After gaining experience in the fashion houses of Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, he was appointed chief designer at Louis Feraud. He started his own fashion house in 1977. He is now more active in Japan. Norway had a retrospective of this designers beautiful clothing. This is a rare piece as I could find no items of his for sale.
