American Primitive Stepback Cupboard

American Primitive Stepback Cupboard, first half of the 19th Century, with three shelves over a two door cabinet base.  Simple toggle closures for the cabinet drawers.  There are three shelves within the lower cabinet. The sides of the cupboard are cut from one board each, which have been cut down to form the smaller top portion of the piece.  There is a typically plain surround framing on the upper shelves.  Behind the display shelves is lining of a decorative wallpaper in a deep cranberry red.

The condition is good, with a wonderful worn patina and honey coloring to the wood.
