19c Austrian two door wooden shrine, oil painted over gilt wood with the center panel depicting a crowned Madonna holding infant Christ surrounded by large corinthian columns and floating angels. The top of the panel has a beautiful white dove and the interior of each door depicts other saints with draped curtains and gold tassles to the background. Beautiful floral vines surround the interior panel as well as the doors. The two doors close to reveal cartouches with shields in the center decorated with ribbons and flowers. The doors have a brass latch for locking. In excellent condition with surface hairlines to the wood from age, the painting has minor and insignificant loss. Large size measuring 24" height by 3" with the doors open, 17" with doors closed.
