The finest solid bronze fireplace tools, absolute Old World elegance Very ornate as well as most useful. This set is very old (early 18th C?), obviously foreign old world styling and just speaks nobility. Each standing 30 inches tall, the Coal Spade is 8 1/2 by 5 3/4 and the Log Tongs are 5 1/2 wide at the hinge work and open for a 6 inch log. The pads of the tongs are somewhat of a crest shield shape, 1 1/2 inches wide, mentioned because this does not show well here in the pictures. The petaled crown at the top is 2 inches diameter Each piece (I'm guessing now) weighs close to 5 lbs. Looking closely at the wonderful dull brownish gold patina, anything remotely close to being "newly acquired". These are a great set and a wonderful year round decoration as well for your fireplace.
