Antique Faience Grotesque Porcelain Pottery Vase

An elaborate hand painted Antique Italian Faience Grotesque porcelain Vase. Of urn shape with two large winged semi-nude mermaid figural woman handles ending in curled snakes and resting on the vase. Two Grotesque masks in high relief to both sides and each urn has a center cartouche with a hand painted in deep green, blue and gold on white ground and a woman dressed in Renaissance garb. The entire body is hand painted with foliate, sea creatures and winged angels on white ground.

Condition: Insignificant chip on one of the mermaids hair and rim, considered excellent condition for this authentic faience of this age, please see enlarged pictures. Part of a pair; each sold separate.
