One of the finest ash burl bowls we have seen in a long time. Unique in its own passage with a rare two tone coloration, deep profile and unusually warm color development with an untouched natural surface. It has a thinly turned, less than 1/4" thick wall with a worn incised ring around the circumference and a 1/16" worn raised footed base AND--- a small well worn in finger grip pocket also graces its outside, just under the top edge. Condition: no anomalies and the ash 100% burled grain is just fantastic. The dark band, if you are curious, is incidental to the early life of the bowl. The shine picked up in the pictures is due to the lighting for the photographs. Although only 10 inches in diameter, the bowl has an appearance of being much larger because of its depth. Definitely a great choice for the collector of rare fine primitive antiques.
