I finally tracked her down It took two years but I found the woman with the most exquisite collection of fans ever; caught her vacationing in Greece. So now I can bring you once again some of the finest antique folding fans to be found. Such as this one. A bright pastoral courtship scene painted by hand and signed by Duvelleroy himself On vellum and in very good condition indeed. The sticks and guards are mother of pearl with engraved silver and gilt decoration. Simply superb, and comes with the original presentation box fully marked for Duvelleroy of Regent Street in London. Duvelleroy fans have been exhibited and house in numerous museums and collections. Three of these are shown in "Unfolding beauty: The Art Of The Fan" by Anna Gray Bennett. Many Duvelleroy fans were painted by other artists; this one is by the master himself
