 A Very Beautiful Louis XVI Period Gilt-Wood Square Framed, and Ornamentally Carved Barometer, France, Circa 1780 to 1785. A refined and well-preserved Louis XVI period Barometer in square shape, the exterior in gilt with carved Neoclassical motifs above the original dial & workings.  Dating from the last quarter of the 1700s, and French in origin. The dial with descriptions in French of the varying barometric & temperature conditions.  Excellent antique condition, without significant damage or restoration to the gilt-wood frame, and without major wear to the gilding.  A Very Pleasing Presentation Piece.  Would Easily Retail in any fine shop for, $12,500.  Malleries Discounted Price is $7,500.
