A rare 19c French Glass Ladies Writers Wax Seal or Sceau, with an etched glass and Guilloche Enamel handle. The white guilloche on the handle is decorated with hand painted baskets of flowers and bouquets and the glass is delicately etched with long stem roses. The gilt ormolu tip is exquisitely cast into the form of a tall slender urn. The seal has a crown with an elegantly scrolled monogram, CM. The wax seal measures 4" overall and is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. A wonderful addition to any wax seal collection.
