Absolutely gorgeous & rare Antique,18th century French Enamel Gilt Wax Seal in Paillons enamel. Paillions enamel is a delicate 18th century type of enameling. The foil design is cut out and then engine turned in a fine type of engraving. A transparent enamel is then placed over the whole and fired. This is a truly exceptional 18th century French wax seal.
