	Antique French Silver Inkwell Charles X Era Antiques: Inkwells/Desktop
	An unusual silver (with French hallmarks) sphere-shaped inkwell with attached tray. The hinged half-sphere and dome shaped lid is engraved on the upper part with initials and has thumb piece on the front. The bottom part of the sphere holds the glass well and rests on a scalloped border with a round base and all attached to a circular concave dish. Measures 6 3/4" diameter x 4" H, the inkwell without tray measures approximately 3 1/2" H. Excellent condition with no bends or damage, the glass insert is intact and only surface wear is noted to this rare and fine piece. There are two French silver marks as shown in the last photo.
