Rare Sterling Silver repousse French Wine Taster or quaich of the finest, extremely thick and very heavy silver. A silver coin that was in circulation in France in the early 1700's decorates the center of the bowl. The Silver Coin, dated 1728, forms the center of the bowl of this wine taster. The wine taster, 19c, is intricately decorated with grape vines & leaves throughout. The Serpent Handle and bowl have the French Minerve Head indicating the finest Silver, finer than Sterling. Condition: excellent, the silver coin has normal wear consistent with age. Measurements: The bowl measures 3 1/2" across by 1" deep. Total including the handle 4"
