Richly decorated sterling silver flatware service for twelve. This is an assembled set comprised of 12 each, forks and spoons by Alphonse Debain; and 24 knives by Victor Boivin. First rate mastersmiths working in Paris in the late 1800s. The dinner size spoons and forks elegantly appointed with Louis XVI style floral foliate spray surrounded by delicately chased strapping, scrolling acanthus and lamberkins. There is also a massive matching stew or soup ladle. Each piece bears the interlaced monogram "AM". The Rococo knife set, dinner size and dessert or entremet size, carries forth the floral foliate motif and lamberkins. The twisted fluted knife handles are asymmetric in shape with superb rocailles and finely textured latices. One of the most beautiful patterns I've seen The knives are not monogrammed. This is a truly glorious flatware service The set comes in an antique Oak flatware chest with room for 12 coffee spoons. Condition is very good to excellent. Nothing other than light signs of use and age. The original steel blades show some minor oxidation. The aged patina is so very fine, I would not attempt to alter a single piece. Please see photos for dimensions and marks. Each bears the Minerve 1st titre, guarantee that the sterling is .950/1000 parts silver. Combined weight of the flatware service is 3800 grams Please not, there are a total of 49 pieces, not 48. And combined weight is 3800 grams. The photos have combined totals that do not include the huge ladle
