Antique French Tortoise Shell Mop Calling Card Case

Fine Antique French rectangular Tortoise Shell hinged calling card box or case. Designed with a diamond shaped pattern inlaid parquetry of Mother of Pearl, including abalone florets. Interior border of ivory to protect the inner Fabric. Circa 1840. Condition: the case is in excellent if not pristine condition, no missing Tortoiseshell, the hinge and latch is tight and working. Measurements: 3 3/4" x 2 3/4".
