Highly decorative 15 piece tea set in the original rosewood presentation box. The 12 spoons, sugar caddy, and tongs all patterned in Renaissance style with elaborate strap work, shields, deep relief putti and mascarons. The rosewood box, with ebonized exterior, is inlaid with brass strips, flowing elaborate cartouches and the word "The" in the center. The cartouches are enhanced further with tortoise shell centers and mother of pearl floral accents. The .800 silver richly coated with 18k-22k gold. Fabulous set Condition is very good. there is an old professional repair to one of the spoons, as shown in one of the pictures. There is minor loss to some of the brass and minor damage to the box. Given the age of this set, the condition is superb: the Parisian maker, Louis-Alexander Bruneau, commenced trading in 1823 through 1843. We know this is one of his later works since the position of the silver guarantee on these pieces was instituted in 1838. All pieces are marked with both the Minerve 2nd titre, for .800/1000 parts silver, the maker's mark and the spoon stems also with the boar's head.
