	Antique Gilt Carved Wood Lyre Lion Crest Antiques: Architectural
	A fabulous Lion Crest, a fabulous architectural carving dating from the very early 1800s. It is of two full-bodied lions flanking either side of a classical lyre. The carving is really superb - richly defined and having intense detail. I assume that originally this carving was in full gold gilt or gilt and polychrome. Condition: All that remains is a full old red surface with only traces and remnants of gold gilt and it has a few missing pieces. There are a few cracks here and there. Measurements: 44” wide x 27” high.
