Antique Hitching Post Painted Black Jockey

An authentic hitching post in the form of a black jockey. I believe this hitching post is made of zinc and it is assembled in two or more sections. It has been over painted and the recent paint is crusted and flaking off revealing what appears to be the original paint underneath. Underneath is white shirt top I can see an old yellow color trying to break through – new blue paint that is flaking exposes a fabulous red color underneath. He is sitting on a typical hitching post base that is marked with a foundry name of – Langldis of Vermont Inc. Rutland, Vermont. Again this little guy is going to take a little TLC to bring him back to his original grandeur. It would be a dynamite project. The overall structure is in very good condition it is just the fact that he has been over painted – he is still fun and still attractive!
