	An extravagant 19th century Blackamoor pedestal with a Pietra Dura top. Elaborate carving with lavish amount of gold gilding with a spectacular and unusual is Pietra Dura inset top. The piece has fine movement. It is naturalistic and subtle. It is carved as well or better then any Blackamoor I have seen. Wonderful detail in the floral decoration on the tri-pod base and facial features.. It has central shell that tops the tri-foot base. I’ve included pictures for all sides of this wonderful sculpture. They are very cherubic - a true Blackmoor compliment. He is structurally in very very fine condition. He does not wobble – I see no repairs. It has very good construction. The gold gilding – my feeling is – that is water gilded which is just the way we want it. Water gilding is earlier then oil gilding. Back to the Pietra Dura top – black marble with floral insets with coral, lapis lazuli and other wonderful natural stone elements in floral designs. The patina is rich and lush. It is very rare to find an authentic Blackmoor pedestal these days. I just love this piece and I could go on and on and on.
	Measurements: The torchere measures 36 ½" high with the base 16 ½" in overall diameter and the top 12 3/8" in overall diameter.
