Antique Italian Faience Grotesque Nude Figural Vase

An elaborate hand painted Antique Italian Faience Grotesque porcelain Vase. Of urn shape with two large winged semi-nude mermaid figural woman handles ending in curled snakes and resting on the vase. Two Grotesque masks in high relief to both sides and each urn has a center cartouche with a hand painted man dressed in Renaissance garb. The entire body is hand painted with foliate, sea creatures and winged angels on white ground. Hand painted in deep green, blue and gold on white ground.

Condition: Insignificant chip on nose and wing, considered excellent condition for this authentic faience of this age, please see enlarged pictures.

Measurements: Height 15" by 14" at the widest point. This Faience is part of a pair, each sold separate.
