	Antique Japanese Imari Charge Porcelain, Pottery: Export Porcelain: Early Japanese Imari Charger
	A Very Beautiful Japanese Imari Porcelain Charger, Circa 1845 to 1850. Decorated in Imari Colors, but with a More Subtle Pallet than the "Typical" Imari. The Central Panel Features a small boat adrift on a River between Pagodas and a Mountain Range in the Distance, while the Border Panels Feature Stylized Leafs and Phoenixs, and the Most Charming Vignettes of Foo Dogs Playing with "Pearls". The charger is of hard-paste porcelain, the mixture of powdered clay & stone (Kaolin & Pentutse), and notable for a pure blue-white translucence. The Painted Decoration is in Excellent Condition, While the Lavishly Applied Gilding is Fresh and Bright. A Most Impressive Piece. Retails for $ 2,450. Malleries Price $1,950.
