Antique Micro Mosaic Picture Frame 6 Venetian Scenes

Rare antique Italian Micro Mosaic Frame. 4 by 6 1/4 inches with 1 3/4 by 3 1/4 inch picture size. The look is quite Venetian with that Byzantine Style. 6 scenes of Venice all approx. 1 inch. They include: St Marks Square, Doges Palaces, Bridge of Sighs, cathedral and 2 others I do not recognize. Also areas of floral and black and white checked design. I have never seen such a piece...has to be one of the very rarest.

Easel back with ecru satin backing. Mounted on heavy gilt metal and quite substantial.

I see no missing tesserae. Colors and scenes are quite exceptional.
