Antique Tantalus Mahogany Six Decanters 2 Cordials 19c

An absolutely wonderful antique mahogany Tantalus containing six decanters and two air twist stem cordials. The bottles of course are hand blown with an ornately blown mold stopper. Out of the six bottles there are two that are sick which means cloudy, one bottle has damage to the neck, and three bottles are excellent. They are all lavishly enameled with gold gilt. Of course the box is fitted for the decanters and there is a fitted compartment in the lid for the two air twist stem cordial glasses. The case is over all in highly figured mahogany with a federal wavy birch inlay on the top in a triangular design. The box is in excellent condition and the surface patina is totally rich and wonderful. This box dates from the first quarter of the 19th century. The box measures 10”w x 8 ¾”h x 6 ¾”deep and the decanters measure 7 5/8”h x 2 5/8”w.
