| This Antique Blown Glass Mirror from Venice, was designed and made by an Artisan Glass Blower, in Venice, Italy around 1880-90's. This Venician mirror is very rare. Most of the Venician Blown Glass Mirrors are clear or frosted Glass. This Mirror has 4 colors, Pink ,Blue, yellow, and clear. The Mirror itself ,is Etched to perfection. The frame is Blown Glass Flowers, and leafs, and cording, all over it, making a Frame, that is frankly, Mystical. It is 50 inches by 32 inches. All this glass and mirrors, are mounted, on a very sturdy, thick piece of wood, These Mirrors, were orginally shipped to the US in the 1880-90's, in pieces, wrapped and in barrels. They sent over with them, a Artisan to put them together , when they arrived in St. Louis. This mirror came from The Central West End of St.Louis. The mansion it came from, was build around 1900, just in time for the Worlds Fair, which was across the Street {Lindell} from their homes. I knew the Lady, whose mother bought this mirror. I knew her in the 1960's, and she was over 75, at the time. She related lots of information, about her Antiques. She remembered, the Italian man coming to their home, and putting the mirror together, and hanging it for her family. The mirror is not mint, but it is in Great Antique condition. It is so Beautiful, who cares. If you want perfect, buy a new mirror, but if you want Enchantment in your home, You need an Enchanting Antique Venician MIrror. |
