Outstanding art nouveau blown vase by world renowned glass artist Fellerman. Fellerman has been doing artistic glass since the 1970’s and this one is an early piece signed underneath Fellerman 71. His works in these early years were equivalent and in the same design as all of the famous art glass makers of the Tiffany era. Using precious metals the work is superb. This is a large sized and heavy iridescent opaque vase with swirling art nouveau vine designs in greenish gold with tinges of orange and shades of blue. The lines are extremely exquisite and naturalistic in form. It measures 5 ½”h with a 5” diameter of the base. Fellerman’s early works are highly sought after as they were unique one of a kind items and not in production for a very long period of time. His works at present are completely different now then these early works. Here is a little bit of the accreditations of Mr. Fellerman with his museum exhibitions – Corning Museum of Glass permanent collection, Corning N.Y.; The Chrysler Museum permanent collection, Norfolk, VA.; White House Collection, Washington D.C.; Master Craftsman Award, State of Connecticut; Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands, private collection.; "North American Glass" Gilford Handicraft center, Gilford Connecticut; Hartford Square North, Architectural Installation, Hartford CT; Castle Street, Interior Installation, Great Barrington, MA; NCAA Headquarters, Installation, Overland Park, Kansas; Bradley International Airport, Inaugural Exhibit, Bradley CT; Society of Art's & Crafts , Boston, MA.; Fragile Glass, Finalist, Glass Magazine; American Glass, Lever House, N.Y.C.; ITT, Limited Edition Vessel; Bruce Museum, Exhibit, Greenwich, CT; Tampa Museum, Exhibit, Tampa, Florida; Brookfield Craft Center, Exhibit, Brookfield, CT. So he was well noted and his works especially these early works are highly sought after by serious glass collectors. It is in excellent condition – no chips no cracks – it is positively stunning. |
