The Pierres d'Orient et d'occident is designed by Zoe Pauwels.

Thsi scarf is a reissue and one can understand why Hermes would release this scrf over a variety of seasons. Originally issued in 1988.

The inspiration behind this I believe is the renaissance period and the Medicis were particularly in love with this type of marquestry. 

The overall theme running through this piece is about the fragility of life.

This scarf was part of the AW 12 collection.
