Beyond ordinary is this Museum quality Louis Vuitton VIP Poupee / Doll. This is from a private collection and in beautiful condition as though never removed from the box, treasured and coveted for many years and never offered to the general public until now. This little poupee was manufactured by a doll company for Louis Vuitton as a special VIP gift and would have been given as a VIP gift to customers in the 1930s if they has placed a large order, say a trunk. The Poupee wears a colorful and elaborate handmade costume and it is all trimmed with a border which has geometric motifs and two metallic borders. The full length apron is finely trimmed with gold metallic thread and red felt trims. The Poupee wears a pretty hat made to look like straw and is intricately made by thin and fine weaving and she also wears a gold metal cross around her neck. The elaborate costume still bears the original Louis Vuitton hand sewn label to the underside as shown, and the front has the original paper label sewn in which reads : "Nivernais". She wears a gold metal cross around her neck and the dolls head is made of bisque and entirely hand painted, including each eyelash and all to the finest and most minute detail. The tiny hands, legs and feet are all made of papier-mache or composition material. The Poupee comes in the original Louis Vuitton box and still has the original label on the box as shown. * Size: The Poupee is approximately 5" tall. * Condition: in perfect condition; all feet hands and fingers present.
