Republique Francaise Liberte Egalite Fraternite is a striking vintage Hermes scarf by Joachim Metz celebrating France becoming a Republic.  The French revolution, which began in 1789, paved the way for France to become a republic in 1792.  This dramatic scarf was first issued in 1989 and I believe has not been re-issued since. With bright cheerful colors of lemon yellow, raspberry pink and vibrant sky blue, this scarf is a stand-out in both its design and its symbolism.
