Belter American Victorian Settee Sofa

Belter American Victorian full sized settee of sinuous form.  Excellent condition. John Belter has long been recognized as among the most important of the cabinetmakers producing high-style furnishings in the Rococo Revival style for the luxury market in nineteenth-century America. Belter garnered an international reputation for the suites of drawing room furniture he manufactured, many out of laminated and richly carved rosewood.  This example is unusually restrained for a piece of Belter, and as such lends itself to a mix of styles so often used in today's interior design.
