	Exquisite Black Forest Jewel Box, early 19th century. Wonderful carving and aged patina on this lovely jewelry tower makes for a beautiful decorative piece as well as it being quite useful. Impressive size of 17 x 14 with drawers 5 x 3 1/4 inches. Adorned with a masterfully carved hunt scene featuring a stag and hound, the top lifts to unlock the three tiers with 6 swing out jewelry trays lined with blue felt. There is also a full size lockable bottom drawer to display your pièce de resistance. Hand carved oak, maple, and edelweiss leaves and berries abound as well as its decorative feet, adding to this wondrous jewelry chest that just epitomizes the charm of Old World Black Forest. Sadly there is no key to the two locks, but I will guess that if one were handy that the mechanisms would work. The top does fit and close perfectly (picture shows it slightly ajar). Fit, finish and operation is flawless.
